{ Rachel } - Bloomington, IL Senior session

Class of 2014!  Can you believe its here!?
I had a blast working with Rachel at her senior session!  Her love of life makes her such a joy to be around.  We went to ISU Campus for a few shots then ended her senior session with doing a little bit of light painting.

Rachel loves to dance and loves spending time with her friends and family.  She has plans on attending college after high school but not sure what her major will be yet.

I was so excited to get a call to do a surprise proposal.  How exciting!  I met with him a few days before to go over the location, what will take place etc.  It went perfect!  She had nooo idea it was coming.   They recently got a puppy so they were simply 'taking the puppy to a new park'. :)  Needless to say, she was beyond excited and said YES!  I'm so excited for them! 

Noah | Central Illinois Children Session

Its always an honor to take photos for parents that my kids were friends with growing up.  Its hard to believe that our kids are even old enough to have kids of their own.  After all, I'm still so young! :)

Meet Noah!  This little guy has a really special place in my heart because his mom resides there too.  And it does my heart good to see her being such a great single mom to him.

I chose to do a kinda old theme with him and it fits him perfectly. :)  Isn't he just adorable??

YAY FOR ADDY!!  She turned one year old.  We had a blast with her birthday/cake smash session.  The look on her face when she tasted that cake was priceless.  She was not shy at all about digging into the mound of delicious I placed in front of her.  The outfits her mom chose for her were just adorable too.  They came from Haley Laine.  You can find her shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/haleylaine

Sweet Adalyn | Bloomington, IL Photographer Session

This sweet little family came to me from Champaign, IL.  I appreciate the 45 minute drive they took to get to me. :)

8 Month old Little Adalyn is just a doll!  She wasn't too sure about the whole camera thing going on but I think her pictures turned out adorable anyway!  It was refreshing to see a dad so involved in his childs life too.  It was obvious these parents are doing a fantastic job raising this precious little girl.

I had the pleasure of doing a maternity/family session for this little ones mom so I was super excited when she called wanting me to do her newborn session.  She came to me around 10 days new and was just pure sweetness. :)  I look forward to their family session this summer.

Sugar Mama Cupcakes!! - Bloomington, IL Photographer

My mother in law knows how much I LOVE Red Velvet cake.  She bought some cupcakes for me the other day from a new place in town called “Sugar Mama  Bakery”.  They were DELICIOUS!  In my opinion, lots of times bakeries overdo the frosting with sugar and its way to sweet.  I usually end up scooping some of it off, but Sugar Mama Bakery got it just right.  It’s rich and creamy but not overdone.

I decided to head out to get another cupcake today so I could take a photo to share with everyone.  OK, more so to just get another cupcake but the excuse sounded like a good one to give my husband when he asked where I was going today. Lol..  I got there and they had Peanut Butter Cup as the flavor of the say.  UGH! Decisions!  Anyone that knows me very well knows I LOVE peanut butter stuff.  I could not decide which one to get, so I got them both.  The ladies that work in this bakery were super nice and once again the cupcakes were delicious!

I highly recommend trying them out and supporting our local small business owners.  They are located at  405 North Main, Downtown Bloomington, IL

It is that time of year again! As we get ready to say goodbye to the class of 2013, I would first like to thank all my Fantastic senior reps. Emily, Ruth, Madison & Anna were a joy to work with and I wish them much success in life. I know the future holds great things for them!

I am thrilled to announce that applications are now being accepted for class of 2014 senior representatives for Karen Stauffer Photography! Those selected as 2014 reps will be treated to a complimentary session, including makeup and styling, fabulous new images to start the senior year and share on facebook, plus the opportunity to earn some really cool bonuses including an IPAD MINI!!! 

Karen Stauffer Photography is looking for 4-6 outgoing class of 2014 students to work with this year, at schools including but not limited to: Bloomington High, Normal Community, Normal West, Heyworth High, Olympia High, Central Catholic and U-High.

What’s the criteria for selection? You must be a current high school junior (class of 2014) in the Bloomington/Normal IL area. Involvement in school activities, a positive personality, and inner beauty are key qualities. You do not need to be a “model” to apply, in fact none of my reps have been working models, just real high school seniors that love to have fun and let their beauty shine.

Does it cost anything? Your Spring 2013 model session is absolutely free, as well as all promotional materials and images for facebook.

Is their a deadline? YES, all application must be submitted by February 28, 2013 to be considered.

How will I know if you select me? All senior rep application will be reviewed the first part of March, and you will be contacted shortly after. Keep in mind that only ONE rep position is available per school and applications are competitive. For best chances I suggest filling out the application completely and thoroughly, make sure you stand out.

I think one of the best perks of my job is meeting new people. This was such a sweet family to work with. Their little girl was just adorable. :) I just know she will make a good big sister.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  And welcome to my new blog! 
Im really looking foward to whats in store for me in 2013 and am super excited with the changes that are coming!

I hope you found time to reflect on your past year and recognized the blessings.  So many times we have a tenancy to focus on the bad instead of the good.  We all have so much to be thankful for!
